ABOUT DALVATROLL
It is so true, absolutely true, that there live hundreds of trolls in Dalva wood in Nedstrand. Troll kids are curious and adventurous. They wade in the Frogsteam and showers under the Frogfall while screaming with excitement. When the sun shines, the troll kids play hide-and-seek and games of tag with the sunbeams. The Troll kids hide among giant ferns, behind large rocks and in hollow logs and cry to the sunbeams: "Come and get me, come and get me before the clouds come!"Momma trolls are cooking and cleaning. Daddy trolls are making new tools, repairing old ones and clearing the forest. Grandmothers are knitting, while drinking herbal tea. Grandfathers are reading old newspapers, drinking cold coffee and enjoying their pipes ☺.When darkness settles, the troll families often sit around the campfire outside their caves. They are drinking mysterious trolldrinks. They talk about the day's events and plan the next day's activities, which seldom turn out as planned. There is never time for boredom in Dalva wood. The adventurous troll kids see to that.
You will now get to know a few of them and their family.Olli, Alma and Little-Maja lives with Momma Troll Elvira, Daddy Troll Anton, Grandma Milla and Grandpa Waldemar.

DALVATROLL is the result of a long,
long process, which already began in my childhood.
The creativity began to
"blossom" in terms of self-made paper dolls, drawing, coloring and cutting at age of 5-6 years.
There followed many years of various knitting projects. I wrote my first troll stories in secondary school in Finland in the 70's. The stories were often read out aloud to the class. Some of my drawings and poems were also published in the youth column in the local newspaper ☺.
Next time trolls and troll stories appeared in my life was in the form of plays and dramatization. This happened while I studied at the Stavanger Teacher Training College in 1986-89. Now, after many years of working in kindergartens in Stavanger and as a self-employed lecturer, the trolls have come back into my life.
First in the shape of Santa Claus dolls that I started making in 2009. After a while I had the idea of writing books about trolls. This happened after countless hours in the woods where I photographed trolls among mushrooms, streams, and stones and moss covered stumps.
My husband and I have a house at Dalva in Nedstrand (by the fjords in Ryfylke in
Norway). On the lower side of the property there is a magnificent forest named Dalva Wood. And there, by the "Frogstream" all the trolls live, and they are many ☺.Many ideas for new books are being born when I am in the forest with my trolls.
In addition to Norwegian, the books are available in English, German, Spanish and Finnish.
